Support Groups Grief Support
Group
One of the most painful of all experiences
is the death of a loved one. The more we have loved a person, the
more it hurts! Our young adult years are the years of life, love,
dreams and plans for an exciting future. Death can put an end to
so many of those experiences. At the request of a number of young
adults who have experienced the death of a loved one, the Young
Adult Ministry Office has established a Grief Support Group for
young adults. If you (or someone you know) has recently experienced
the death of a parent, spouse, significant other, sibling, family
member, extended family member, friend, work colleague, or anyone
else you love, we invite you to consider participating in the Grief
Support Group. more

Jewish-Catholic Couples Dialogue
Group
Ten years ago, two couples, unknown to each
other at that time, were interested in finding other couples who
were living out a similar relationship: a Catholic person and a
Jewish person in love with one another. Now, ten years later, not
only have those two Jewish-Catholic couples met each other, but
also over 550 similar couples. Presently, the Jewish Catholic Couples
Dialogue Group is comprised of Jewish-Catholic people who are dating,
engaged, married and married with children. The Dialogue Group gathers
monthly for a general meeting, which focuses on issues of the Catholic
and Jewish faiths. The group hosts special sessions to prepare other
couples for marriage. The Dialogue Group has been instrumental in
establishing a Family School, that is responsible for the religious
faith development of their children. If you know of young adult
couples from the Jewish and Catholic faiths who would benefit from
learning about this Dialogue Group, please contact David & Patty
Kovacs at 773.275.5689 or Dan & Abbe Josephs at 708.660.9503.

Divorced &
Separated Group
One of the great dreams for many young adults is to be married.
More people marry during their young adult years than at any other
time in life. One of the greatest tragedies is when a marriage does
not last. The loneliness, pain and emotional suffering can be intense.
Having the opportunity to be with peers who have 'been there' themselves
can be comforting and helpful.
Contact Elsie Radtke at the Family Ministries Office of the Archdiocese
of Chicago , 312-751-8353 or divorce@archchicago.org for information
about current groups for those who are Divorced or Separated. If
you are a young adult who has been divorced and would like to help
create a group for your peers, please contact the Young
Adult Ministry Office
